Hi,
So finally made it with 83% today!! Thanks to all of you here!! Well, I started preparing for it since Oct last year but did the real hard work all through Dec. First I studied R&H twice and later happened to get Khalid from the library just to refer it and believe me I could not leave it till I finished it!!! It's an absolutely wonderful book. I recommend that it SHOULD be referred. Apart from this I did some of the mock exams and the complete JQPlus software. The software is also very very good but then it costs money
Last but not the least -- JavaRanch!!
Well about the exam:
java.lang surprisingly got me down. I got just 50%. I guess I thought of some tricks which were never there!!!
Everybody is worried about Threads. Please don't be. R&H is sufficient. Just carefully read the way Threads are created using Runnable and Thread class and of course what all the methods like wait, notify etc do and how the synchronise keyword is used.
For i/o,operators,overriding,Inner Classes,Casting Khalid is undoubtly the best. Most of the important things are diagramatically represented so that made remembering classes and subclasses very easy.
Also I made important notes on all the topics and read them a day before the exam. Had done lot of coding too..no excuse for this anyways.
That's it I guess. Hope it helps!
Thanks to all once again!! Best of Luck for your SCJP exam.
Regards.
