Hello everyone,
This is my experience regarding obtaining the Certificate (by post) after passing the SCJP2. First, let me thank Javaranch for the help in studying for the exam, and later, for information about getting the actual certificate.
I wrote an email to who2contact@central.sun.com after finding from the galton site http://www.galton.com/~sun that I had 'not completed' all the requirements for getting the certificate.. viz - the Certification Agreement - and I got back the reply that the certificate was being queued for mailing.. the date on the certificate is the date that I wrote to them.
The actual email from Sun says:
"
We have queued your certificate to be mailed.
At this time the Certification Agreement is not active. We anticipate it to be available in late summer so please disregard any certification agreement information until further notice.
We thank you for your patience.
Sincerely
Certification Team
"
So for all of you who have passed the exam, and have not yet received the certificate by mail, write to this site, asking for the certificate!
Hope this helps!!

I wrote the test on Apr 30 - pass; and also cleared for all requirements. Yet, I haven't found my cert. in mail box. Can anyone tell me their experience? How long does it take to get the paper?

I got my Certificate with a week and a half of passing. It didnt really take that long. Then again I am in Canada so it might be quicker for that one reason.

They even got my address wrong and it still arrived quicky. If it doesnt arrive in over say a month then give them a email. Try the Galton website. I am sure they will be more than happy to help you.
They must have tons of ppl to deal with. Good luck all

i think there may be some funny business with how sun decides to send you the certificate.
when you take the exam, at the end there's some questions about if you want to be sent
informational mailings from the sun family of companies or some such. i, being the spam-
avoiding fellow that i am, said no. i believe saying no makes it so your certificate does not
get queued for mailing. you can email them a month later and they'll say something like,
"we're sorry. it wasn't queued to be mailed but it is now. thanks." that's pretty much what
they told me today anyway. they said it *now* should be mailed during the next 3 to 7 business
days.

Hi,
I got my certificate 40 days after I cleared the exam, I had cleared the exam on 20th of April but checked galton only on 23 rd of May as I was getting worried, that very day it got queued for mailing and I received it on the 30th of May, I don't know if this had to do anything with my checking the site, I did not send any e-mails to anyone.

John Gabriele,
I think you may be right.. I did the same thing and my certificate was not queued either.. So now I am inclined to say that there is a probable link. This makes me a bit sceptical of the company (Sun) - we, as java certified programmers, are forwarding their platform over others, and they choose to play games with us in such a manner? Hmmmm..

I said no and got mine within about a week and half. So I don't think that is it.
