My Dear Friends,
Finally I Made It!!! Me too SCJP NOW! That too with 96%.
It was not just my efforts but combined effort of all of us. Im really thankful to all of you.
Few months back i knew nothing about java and today i am jcp with 96%. Its really inspirning.
My efforts started with basic java tutorial from java.sun.com and then i moved to Java2 by Patrick Naughton. Wrote lot of code and got basic knowledge of java and got my fundamentals clear.
Then i decided to get SCJP2 and the first help i got from javaranch. Got to know about various sites and mock exams available. After little bit of thinking i decided to go for J@Whiz from whizlabs (www.whizlabs.com/jwhiz) along with mock exams of marcus green at jchq.net and javaprepare.com, notes of veena and RHE. Devoted around 2 months of time with all these resources starting from the book and notes and then moved on to mock exams and finally 11 tests from j@whiz in last 15 days and finall revision with veena's notes and revision tips of j@whiz.
The journey was long but i am thankful that i had the complete info in front of me.
Looking at the fact that i started with no exp and got a great score, i am very much inspired and learnt a lesson: Planning Always Wins and overpowers hurriedness.
And i request all of my javarancher friends to follow this. I am sure it will help you achieve your dreams.
Written too much. I will give more time and try to recall question pattern from the real test and will give more details about my preparation to help all of you who helped me achieve my dreams.
Once again i am thankful to all of you great friends and am willing to help all of you with whatever possible for me.
ALL the BEST!!!
You CAN and WILL Do IT!!!
Pradi

Hi Pradeep,
Cool Man... Great Score.... Congrats....
It would be really helpful if you could give more detail about the pattern of the exam and the pattern of the questions in the mock exams you have used.
Also what are your plans now?
Thanks
Rajat

Hi,
Veena's Notes are available at so many sites. As paul gave one of the links to obtain the same.
RHE stands for Robert Heller and Ernest.. a book for Java Certification.
I will think more and give more details about the pattern of the exams and the mock exams like marcus ones, j@whiz etc.
Once again i will suggest to plan your preparation. It is the most effective way to achieve your desires.
All the best

Dear All,
I am really delighted at the wishes of all of you and promise to help in whatever way i can do.
Now i am going to go for another war.. another certification . But not very much clear as if what to do.
I think IBM XML Certification will be worth giving. I can see a great future of XML as its being supported by everyone, be it sun or MS.
It would be great if experience Java Ranchers can help be take decision.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks in advance
Pradi

Checkout the XML forum. We have some great discussions going on about IBM XML certification. JavaRanch also has a few good mock exams!
