Here's my thank you to everyone out there in the Developer Forum for helping me pass this exam. I haven't posted before, but I'd feel like I was stealing if I didn't thank everyone wonderful insight on that forum.
My Score breakdown was as follows:
General Considerations: Maximum=58 Actual=56 Documentation: Maximum=20 Actual=20
GUI: Maximum=24 Actual=18
Server: Maximum=53 Actual=41
Total 135/155
As far as my design choices go, I used sockets
(just had to be different ). I also modified the data class.
I'm not sure why my server lost so many points, but I think it possibly may have to with not doing any thread clean up after shutting down my server? I wish Sun would provide a few more details.
Anyway, the big thing is that I passed! I totally have to say that I learned a great deal from this certification and finally have something Java related that I can talk about during my interviews. Maybe I can get a job now.
Cheers for Javaranch!
Regards,
Jason

Congrats Jay. You had to be different. I hadn't heard of someone using sockets in a long while
