Hi all,
Just checked my score.
The maximum number of points is 400, to pass you need a score of 320. Section Summary: Section Max Actual Points Points General Con: 100 92 Documentation: 70 48 OOD: 30 26 GUI: 40 40 Locking: 80 80 Data Store: 40 40 Network Server: 40 40 Total: 400 366
2 days ago, in the Sun's new certification server, a History event was posted. It showed that i failed the exam. I looked @ the posts at javaranch and realized one cannot fail the exam. Then i mailed Sun and Thomson about it. I got a reply saying that the new system has a bug in it ;-)
Just as a reference, these are the high level design decisions:
1. 2 tier architecture with locking exposed to client side
2. CREW locking
3. RandomAccessFile handles (with pooling support)
4. Just simple text fields for searching (no intelligent, learning combo boxes)
5. RMI
Anyways, thanks to everybody.. Andrew, Jim, Phil, Bharat, et al (sorry if i forgot any other name)

Congratulations, Dushy! A very nice shot, with 100% in locking!

Excellent work
Why do you think you lost point on the documentation? This is the part im most nervous about. I have NO idea what format to use (i dont mean file format, im talking chapter layout etc). I have no idea what is too little and what is too much. Any feelings on this?

Morgan,
I made some notes about documentation in a couple of posts in my design discussion thread should you care to read them. They are about a half dozen posts down.

Congrats Dushy!!!
Boy, sure seems like that "posting failure" is a bug they should fix!!!
When you got results, did they come in an email, or did you just keep checking back to the cert database and eventually they posted the score???

Hi TJ,
I never got a mail. I was checking the http://www.certmanager.net/sun_assignment website. Funny, the certification result STILL did not appear in the new website ;-)
