I missed one in concurrency. I work as a Certified Nurse Assistant, and just used a computer for the first time a month ago. I didn't buy anything--just used the comprehensive Java tutorial on Sun's site, as well as the API and language documentation. This was way too easy. Look--nobody has failed it! Oh well, it was fun I guess. Oh, and I'm 28 and from USA.

Hi,

Congratulations on passing SCJP with a great score...
I just couldn't agree with you on this

Look--nobody has failed it!

Because, according to Bert Bates....

Remember everyone that JavaRanch is filled with a bunch of smart-alecks er... very smart people

It's easy to lose sight of how hard these exams are, because of all the fantastic results that JavaRanchers get, but remember, Sun WANTS these exams to be hard, and they STILL set the pass percentage at 52% !!! So remember that even at 52%, a LOT of people don't pass this exam!

- Bert

Cheers......

Wow Greg,

That is a very good score for 1.5 exam. I think you have the highest score in 1.5 exam till date. That too considering your background....this is wonderful.

Congratulations Greg that is an utterly fantastic score, especially as you had used a computer for the first time a month ago. Most people with a reasonable background in using computers and some experience of programming take a matter of months to study and pass the exam. With your ability I think you can probably study and pass a few other certifications in the upcoming months. Based on reading the feedback from several thousand candidates over the last few years most of them do not consider the exam easy so you can pat yourself on the back as having a rare talent. You might consider changing trades based on your exam experience.
