Hi all,
I have cleared SCWCD in the last week with 78%. Expected more %ge than what I have got. Thank you all and specifically java forum members. I used to go thru the topics posted here and follow the tips provided by our group members. They really helped me a lot. I cleared SCJP 2 months back and in preparing this I took some time to get more %ge. But there was a fumble at the questions from session management , security implementation and deployment related xml syntax.

I would like to mention my experience of positives and negatives here so that it can be useful for some in the future.

1. I have studied the notes from Miftakhan and Kenzrobok. (Both are provided in SCWCD links from javaranch)
2. Mock up exams from j2eecertifcate.com, javaranch and jiris.com.

Head First Servlets & JSP
3. Follow up of Head First Servletes & JSP topic by topic.
4. Please prepare a self notes while going thru the Head First book. It will be very useful.
5. While doing the exercises from each chapter, please note down the wrong options you have selcted and please REVISE them before the final exam day.
6. Take the complete mock up only ONCE when you feel that you have read and digested the book completely.
7. Take the mock up exam atleast ONE WEEK before the final exam. By doing so you will have the clear idea of picking the correct choices from the options. I did a mistake here. I just took the exam just one day before the final exam. Hence I did not have enough time to practice the final exam questions. You can believe that the final exam won't be tougher than the mock exam at the end of this book. And the final exam I would be almost in the same lines as the exam in the book. I got 27 from the book and 54 in the final exam!!!. Ofcourse in the book we were not having the clue of exact # of correct answers.

8. Follow the API and make sure you revise it without fail on the day before the exam. That helped me a lot. Becuase 7 / 8 questions were purely based on the Servlet / JSP API.
9. Just concentrate a bit more on the syntax and semantics of (like the xml validity w.r.t tags and mandatory attributes, their default values) Tag Lib & Security constraint sections of deployment descritor. You may find more questions from those sections.

My sincere thanks to Kathy & Bert for compiling a certification book in such a wonderful way. This has given me inspiration to go for SCBCD and I already bought the book right on the evening I passed SCWCD .

As and when the time permits, I would like to submit the notes I prepared to his forum, so that it can be helpful.

Once again thank you all for the knowledge sharing and soon I wish I too contribute more ...

- Satya
