I have Exam (SCJP 5.0) tomorrow and I know its already too late to ask this question

In last 3 days, I have taken 7 mock exams and here are my scores in them

K&B: Learnkey MasterExam: 53%

[Didn't like its interface. So, didn't download the bonus Exam. Immediately, bought whizlabs simulator which I've tried/liked before]

Whizlabs:

Diagnostic Exam: 69%
Practice Exam 1: 56%
Practice Exam 2: 78%
Practice Exam 3: 78%
Practice Exam 4: 72%
Final Exam : 76%

Failed in two and passed in others .. So, I guess I'm ready for the exam (I know.. I have no other choice )

I'm going to sleep now and tomorrow morning I will have 4 hours to prepare before the exam (Its at 14:00 IST).

I'm thinking about revising the Two minute drills and Exam Watch Points in K&B and also reading the SCJP Notes By Dave Allen once (I know this has lots of typos and few bugs ).

Any other links/suggestions welcome

Will update you guys with my score Tomorrow Evening IST

UPDATE:

Cleared the Exam with 88%

Actually my aim was just to pass the exam

Just don't stress yourself out about things and you should be fine. Use the last few exams to figure out what to look over in the few minutes before the test, do a quick read-through of those subjects, and breathe.

Good luck!

I have started preparing for the exam by reading the K&B book. It took 3 months for me to read/practise it for the first time (with busy office schedule). Then I quickly revised it in 10 days. Practised with the mock exams for 3 days. And finally took the exam.

And regarding mock exams.. The master exam will be in the CD which comes with K&B book. And whizlabs simulator, one needs to buy it (For Indians, Its just 15$ )

Was the exam difficult compared to the whizlabs
mock exam? What was your experience during the
exam were you nervous?

The actual exam was easy. You need not compare it with whizlabs.. Most of the questions are just basics (like standard mistakes).. you can learn them all by taking lots of mock exams (taking lots of exams just before the exam helped me in mastering all these gotchas)

Whizlabs mock exams are not that tough.. Actually they are very much close to actual Test.. Once you practise with them... then you can score much better in the actual Exam...

So.. Finish the K&B book (Read and Practise all code in it).. Revise it quickly... take the mock exams... Then Go for the EXAM

Hi Kishore,

You said Whizlabs simulate is for 15$ for Indians, can you send me the link for it. How can I avail this facility? Is there any additional tax/charge I need to pay if I buy things online with Indian credit card?

When you open this page http://www.whizlabs.com/scjp/scjp-5.0-details.html from INDIA (may be they are deciding this based on client IP).. you will get prices based on indian currency

HI Kishore

I had the same predicament and I followed your advice and cleared the exam today with 83%. I used the K&B book and it was great!. I tried their mock exams after each chapter and also the master exams and secured 65% in that.

But I wasn't confident at all and was wondering/worrying what to do and stumbled on your thread and found that you used the whizlabs to additionally helped you. I did the same thing I took all the exams and I also took the final exam as well. I secured 83% on my Sun Exam and cleared it is really really great today (oct 28, 2006). I will put my story in another thread detailing my prep as well to help others.

Thanks.
