Hi all!
I cleared the SCWCD exam, with 86% on Saturday! Yaaaaaaaay!!
Here are some important tips for those who will be giving their exams soon: The Head First
Servlets &
JSP book is great, and makes understanding stuff really easy, but it has got quite a few mistakes! Check out the errata page at this link, and make sure you correct all mistakes in the book, BEFORE you start reading it:
http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/headservletsjsp/errata/ I found the SCWCD revision notes by Fredric Esnault very useful, though they do have some of the same mistakes as the book.
Expect a lot of questions on custom tags - make sure you know their life cycles well. The design
pattern questions were thankfully easy.
Also, remember where all of the files go in a web app.
The mock exam given at the end of the book does give you an accurate picture about the kind of questions that you will see in the exam. I scored 63% in the mock, and then i knew that i have to work a lot harder! I did, and thankfully, got 86%! Now i cant wait for my certificate/pin!
Good luck!
