Hi all,

I'm so happy to pass this exam with a good mark today. I spent almost 4 months to study hard on it and did a tons of coding work. And I want to thank all javaranchers' help to me.

Especially, much thanks to Kathy and Bert, your K&B book gives me so much help, not only for exam, but also more important for me to fully understand the concepts which I didn't know before. I feel much confidence in Java now.

Hopefully, everyone are luck on their exam. I will keep going to work hard on my next target -> SCWCD 5.0

Nobody is going to beat your score! Congratulations!

We have a special forum for announcing exam results; the Sun Certification Results forum. I'm moving this post over there.

Congrats Liqiang!
I am just starting my preparation for SCJP 1.5 with KnB Study guide.
Since you have already done the test, can you tell me if the
KnB book is enough for the preparation? Or do i need to refer
to other sources too?

Thanks,
Tara

Hi Tara,

I think the most important point is whether you totally understand what K&B book is talking about, even some tiny things. If yes, you should be fine because all topics have already been covered. I only read K&B book. Another part is that I did a lot of test code to help me make sense and memorize every details about the objectives(practice always make you feel better). Hope this can give you a little bit idea and good luck to you.

Hey! what is the KnB book? Could you spell out the complete title and the author's name?

Kind regards,

The author name of the book is Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates. As per my opinion, its the best book for SCJP certification. You dont need to refer to other books if you have finished reading it atleast two times

Actually, I didn't took much mock exams, but did alots code test, I feel it's very helpful for me to figure out compile error, throw exception and how is program running flow. I am not sure this way is good enough for someone else or not. Maybe you can give a try.

Thanks to all!

I just practice more and more on those code with my IDE. I am not care about the score too much. I just do my best for the exam. I think you should get a good marks if you really work hard (take time and energy). Now I am preparing for SCWCD and hope do my best job on this one.
