Hi Siva,
The plan looks extremely aggressive. If you studying then I guess you can manage to go thru all the weblogic docs you mentioned for working people like me a single document eat whole of your evening and night time.
I am also preparing for the same but currently not decided on when to take the exam. I am not able to locate any links other then weblogic edocs. Could you please direct me where can I find them.
Best luck with the exam.

Hi Pradeep,
The bea edocs website is full of every thing possible under the hood. For exam preparation, I am following the study guide suggested by bea.
Can you help us with identifying which areas we should concentrate.
Thanks.

Is it possible to attain Weblogic Certification without undergoing a mandatory course from BEA? According to their website, all their certification programs require us to take 1-2 mandatory training courses? Was this introduced recently?? As far as I know, this was never the case a few months back..
Please reply back.
Easwar.

Hello Eshwar
I had a look at the BEA website, and it does not seem that they require you to take the courses for Weblogic 7.0 Developer certification. It just mentions the exam and a list of relevant course.
http://certification.bea.com/certification/certification_70_test.jsp
However, to get the "BEA Certified Specialist: Server" certification, they do require you to take their courses. Maybe that is the difference that you saw (unless anyone else can clarify the answer to this point).

To get Certified Weblogic Server Specialist, you can either take the mandatory BEA courses OR take the Weblogic 7 exam administered by Prometric. The exam results list the certification as Weblogic 7 Enterprise Developer but the certificate you get from BEA will be a Weblogic Server Specialist cert. You need to submit details about your exam and your mailing address to BEA online (cannot remember the URL now) so that they can mail you the stuff (cert, Polo-T, cap) for the certification

But Why BEA hasn't projected Developer Exam in the main List of Certifications, and is the Developer Exam going to Die...or what is the real Status?.

This means that I can first take the Developer Certification and then apply for Spealist Certification.
Until when this can be open.

At http://certification.bea.com/certification/certification_by_product.jsp?r_cert=1
BEA states:

To attain the BEA Certified Specialist: Server certification you must do one of the following:
1. Pass a third-party proctored exam hosted by Prometric.

2. Attend the mandatory courses (WLS-D11-70 and WLS-D21-70) and one elective course (PLAT-01-E70, WLS-D29-70, or PLAT-D31-70).

It looks like this is a problem with the way BEA worded it on the website, it would be clearer if they stated it was either option 1 or option 2, not both.

Guys
I got 80% in the exam. I am happy considering the time I spent on preparing for this exam.
