I want to take IBM test 286. I bought mr.Howard Kushner's book.Should I use that book for 286 preparation also as it is geared towards 287. Also, are there some good study guides for 286? Howhard this exam will be. I looked at the assessment test from IBM and thought I will take that exam after my preparation as a mock test.
Also does any one know of more info about test 620. I have experience with webfacing. So I am thinking of giving that exam also. When I took preassesment test for that one I got 70%. So I would like to get some suggesstions on this exam too.
Thanks,
Krupa

Hello Krupa,
Thanks. I did not take the 286 test myself. I know that Gary Craig and Peter Jakab did the study guide for the 285. I am not sure what the plans are for the 286 test, but I would guess that enough people are passing it, and therefore IBM feels that a study guide is either unnecessary. That said, I hope my book is some help for you, even if it is bit overkill, and when you are ready for the 287 you should be in good shape. If you have questions, please do not hesitiate to post them here. I will do my best to answer them. Best of luck to you!

Thanks Howard.
My question is the first objective of the Exam is creating J2EE projects. does this mean we need to know all three of the following
Connection project
Application Client project
Enterprise Application Project.
I wish the objectives were more detailed.

Also I would like to know which redbook covers most of the topics.

Hello Krupa,
Most of your questions will be answered by following this link:
http://www-1.ibm.com/certify/tests/edu286.shtml
I strongly urge you to try the pre-assessment/sample test. Do this and then tell me what you think. It will be an eye opener for you, I promise. And I would also add that the sample test is (trust me on this) amazingly similar to the actual exam.
Wishing you the very best!
