Hi,
here's detailed result:
J2EE architecture 8 out of 10
Web Component Dev 9 out of 11
EJB dev 13 out of 16
Client dev 5 out of 5
Connectivity Services 8 out of 11
Assembly and Deployment 4 out of 4
here are some tips:
- read questions and answers of 484 questions long post thread. Exam questions are different, but you get a good picture about what kind of questions you are going to expect.
- I primarily used SCWCD-Kit published by Manning, EJB-book by Monson Haefel,
don't miss this one mentioned on ibm page, J2EE pattern catalog and Howard Kushners book about 287 certification.
- I also used material from SCBCD-forum of javaranch. But you should know that IBM.484 has in EJB part a slightly different focus. Valentin Cretaz things and the study guide from url with .ru-domain (forgot name, to tired to look up) are terrific material, though a little bit too detailed for this exam.
- used free mocks from ejbcertification.com. They gave me some comfort regarding my ejb-knowledge.
- Take a good look on JDBC-api and JAAS API before exam. You might be asked about specific methods.
- Have a clear concept when to use what kind of ejb. Remember MDBs are JMS-clients...
Don't forget to take exams if you have vouchers.
Read the 484 related discussions in this forum and you get some good ideas about the thing.
... and good luck to everybody.
I was ready with all the questions after 1 hour. 30 minutes were left for a second round, where I corrected some answers.
Axel
