Is it worth spending money on certification test software specifically for IBM's test #285 (Websphere Associate Dev).?

It depends on how you are familiar with WSAD.

If you are totally new to WSAD, 285 is a good start.

But if we are familiar with any other IDEs, we may jump to 287 as well... As for me, I usually use JBuilder and I do hope that I can jump up to 287, even though I got very small amount of experience in WebSphere Studio...

And 287 is one of the exams for ICED 5.0 as well...

However, IBM 285 costs HKD $575, while IBM 287 costs HKD $1365, if there is no promotion.

Thus, if you are not sure about whether you take ICED, you may consider to try IBM 285 first.
