Hi,

I would like to know if anyone knows, what exactly are the pre-requisites for taking the Weblogic Certification exam?

I am right now a Sun Certified Java Programmer. Do I need to clear some other Sun certifications for taking the Weblogic certification or can I directly take Weblogic certification exams??

Pl. reply ASAP, since I need to decide on which one to take and accordingly plan.

Also, can you also provide some free links on the web for the weblogic certification apart from the documentation on the bea site..

Thanks very much in advance,
Ritha

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your reply.

But I am still looking for the answer for my question. Whether I need to clear any sun certifications before taking up the weblogic certification exam??

Regards,
Sucharitha

I check the BEA website, they say nothing about your question,so I think you do not need to clear any SUN Cert. However, if you have some background on J2EE( for example JSP,EJB, WebService), it might be easy to take BEA exam.( I plan to take web service cert. before I take BEA exam).
You might check whizlabs forum for more information about BEA weblogic Cert. Since very limited informations on this exam I (we) can find and whizlabs can not release their mock exam right now, I might not take BEA Cert. in the following months.
I already take the following actions on BEA Cert.:
1: learn the Struts-in order to understand page flows.
2: read book"BEA WebLogic Workshop 8.1 Kick Start, SAMS 2004, ISBN 0672326221", to understand the WLW.
3: follow the WLW tutorials.
4 Plan to read "BEA WebLogic Server 8.1 Unleashed, SAMS 2003, ISBN 0672324873" and/or "Mastering BEA WebLogic Server".

Thanks a lot!! Alan.

I understand now. We need some comparable level of knowledge to take Weblogic Developer Certification exam. For this exam I think we might need equivalent or comparable knowledge to Sun Web component Developer, Sun Business Component Developer and some knowledge of Web Services(this I don't know how much)

Anyway I have decided to take the Weblogic Certification. So, will keep posted on how I am doing..

I think the "Portal Solutions" might be the easiest exam, just guess.

Hi, this is a system engineer from BEA.

Sucharitha, as far as I know, you don't need to pass any SUN certification before taking BEA Weblogic Platform certification, however, any backgroud of J2EE does make WLEP cert. easier to pass.

We have three certifications for developer degree: Build solutions,Integration Solutions and Portal Solutions, each of them is focus on different product of BEA, they are: Weblogic workshop, Weblogic Integration, Weblogic Portal.

I'm also preparing for Building solution certification, welcome to exchange ideas for certification preparations.

If there is anybody here who passed the BEA Weblogic Certification?

I'm planning to take the building solution certification in the coming days, but I cannot find any mock exams except sample questions in BEA website. If anybody could give me any information about this, it'll be really appreciated.

Hi,
There is a yahoo group(weblogic_meda) moderated by Ramu Meda . This group is created exclusively for weblogic 8.1 certification( Build solutions). Another one (WeblogicPortal_meda) concentrates on portal certification. These groups have a bunch of documents in their files section, Which are very good. Many of the members are certified and are very helpful.

Hope this helps!!
