Thanks for your reply.
But I am still looking for the answer for my question. Whether I need to clear any sun certifications before taking up the weblogic certification exam??

I check the BEA website, they say nothing about your question,so I think you do not need to clear any SUN Cert. However, if you have some background on
J2EE( for example
JSP,EJB, WebService), it might be easy to take BEA exam.( I plan to take web service cert. before I take BEA exam).
You might check whizlabs forum for more information about BEA weblogic Cert. Since very limited informations on this exam I (we) can find and whizlabs can not release their mock exam right now, I might not take BEA Cert. in the following months.
I already take the following actions on BEA Cert.:
1: learn the Struts-in order to understand page flows.
2: read book"BEA WebLogic Workshop 8.1 Kick Start, SAMS 2004, ISBN 0672326221", to understand the WLW.
3: follow the WLW tutorials.

Plan to read "BEA WebLogic Server 8.1 Unleashed, SAMS 2003, ISBN 0672324873" and/or "Mastering BEA WebLogic Server".
