Passed IBM 701: DB2 UDB V8.1 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Database Administration yesterday with 98%, below is the details:

1. DB2 Server Management: 100%
2. Data Placement: 100%
3. Database Access: 100%
4. Monitoring DB2 Activity: 91%
5. DB2 Utilities: 100%
6. Backup and Recovery: 100%

I used the book DB2 Universal Database V8.1 Certification Exams 701 and 706 Study Guide - by Sanders for preparing the exam. Again, like 700, the practice questions prepared by Sanders are very similar to the real exam questions!!! Seems like he wrote the questions while he was looking at the real questions!!!

I believe, for those who wanna be DB2 DBA, Sanders' books are the only resources that we needed!

Anyway, best luck for those who go for the same way.

Congrats.

Now I am going to break my "no certification until winter"-rule.
They accept also 512 (DB2-User exam for Vs. 7, which I have) instead of 700.

Hi Axel,

Thus, you are going to take IBM 701 for ICDBA?

I am afraid you have been to the wrong place as we are not suppose to disclose real questions, use any dumps, or infringe copyright.

I had studied for around 3 weeks, with some practices with the DB, and the mock questions from the book.

Hi Nick,
Congrats! I'm writing my 700 exam in a few days. I have the Sanders book, but could you tell me a few things? How specific are the question (do you have to know what's on page 36 line 4 etc)? Also, I have experience with SQL, but how specific are the questions related to syntax? For example, do we have to know the EXACT syntax including ALL the parameters, or be able to recognize it? For all the packages and suites, do we have to know what each one contains, or just a good overview of the functionalities? Sorry for all the questions, but hope you could help! Congrats again!
