Note: The percentage of each area reflects its actual weighting on the test.

The IBM Certified Solution Developer certification is for intermediate level J2EE developers, architects or consultants who design or develop portal solutions. To achieve this certificate, candidates need to pass Test 399, which is designed to measure skills in the areas of:

Installing, setting up and configuring the development environment (8%)

Note: The percentage of each area reflects its actual weighting on the test.

Test 397 and Test 399 are available via test delivery vendors Prometric Thompson (APTC) and Pearson VUE, April 4, 2005, and will be available with Prime on April 10, 2005.

Practical experience and in-depth product knowledge are required to ensure success on the tests. To help candidates prepare, the following information is provided for each certification and applicable test, and accessible today via the certifications by product view -> IBM WebSphere.

job role description/target audience to which the test is built
recommended prerequisite knowledge and skills one needs to possess before preparing for this job role certification
test objectives or detailed skills measured on the test
recommended educational resources to be used to prepare for the test based on the test objectives

To register for a test, refer to the url of the desired certification role, and contact the test delivery vendor. The test fee is set to the economy of a country as outlined within the WebSphere certification test fees announcement. Test 397 is a 120 minute test, and Test 399 is a 75 minute test. That's fine. We cannot always expect exams are free of charge.

Looking forward to take the test by the end of April.
