Hi all, I cleared IBM test 833 and 834. 70 and 73 % respectively. I would recommend Larman, UML Distilled and any site where you can get the details for RUP. [Link to copyright infringed material removed. -Peabody] is one of them. [ December 28, 2007: Message edited by: Marc Peabody ]
It is quite tough to factor out chapters in larman for 833 and 834 because the concepts that are detailed in 833 are relevant for 834.
Chapters which are of relevance are 6-16, 28, 29, 31, 33.
I would advise you to follow the link that I had mentioned and under each activity find the explanation. From there you can make out which topics need to be covered more.
For 834 I would advise you to have sound knowledge of subsystems, state diagrams, and distribution mechanism
I am also planning to take up IBM 833&834 exams. I have started with Applying UML Patterns by Craig Larman. I also have one more book to be read which is UML Distilled by Martin Fowler
Are there any other study materials that I need to follow for this exam? Also, could you please let me know any links which will direct to some sample questions for the exam or any practice tests?
I am also preparing for 833 and 834 exams. I am also using Craig Larman and UML Distilled. But I hardly find any sample questions in internet for these exams for FREE. Pass4Sure is not free. Do you know any website that provides free sample questions. It need not be exam simulator, just sample questions, so that I will get an idea how the questions will be.
Hi all, I also cleared IBM test 833 and 834 with 72% and 76% respectively. My thanks to Nishant and Mukesh who have shown the right path for this exam.. RUP link given by Nishant is the KEY material for the exam. Most of the questions came from this RUP link. Mock exams like Pass4Sure and Whizlab are also helpful..
In RUP, from which area questions came to you. I mean is it mostly about artifacts in each discipline? or is it like definition of terms? diagrams? etc
I passed today 000-834 previos to 000-833 with 98%. The exams are easy but from my point of view is necesary study Analysis and Design discipline from Rup process for some questions about specific activities. I suggest to study from UML Distilled 3d edition and Rational Method composer for A&D discipline.
hi can any body kindly tell me that how much estimated time is enough regarding preparation of both exams, if i have resources of Larman, Distilled books and RMC A&D.
and also kindly, tell me about recommendation regarding take both examination in one day or some period is necessary.
Best Regards. Kashif
