Hi,
I am on the spree of getting certified in all the possible technologies I work on.
I would like to know if taking a certification in XML, XSL or likewise would add value to SCJD and Oracle certifications from a developer perspective..
Regards

As far as I know, It wodunt really add value with regard to SCJD !!! That does not have anything related to XML !!!
It might add value to SCBCD as EJB descriptor files use XML.. as far as the SCWCD exams go I would say XML is used only in the web.xml configuration files !!!
But with the SCDJWS (web services) XML really rocks and it is mandatory to know about XML particulary about XML Schemas in order to study for the exam and also to use web services !!!
with regard to oracle I have no idea but I think it might be used in generating or building databases based on schema ?
Either way, it is one of the HOTTEST technologies out today !!! and a certification in XML will really BOOST your resume ANY DAY

Hi,
I appreciate your response.
My question was more like, if I have SCJD, OCA, JUNIPER certifications, would have another certification make my resume look more impressive.
Also, what is the cost of the XML certification, and if there are any free or discounted vouchers available anywhere.
Regards
Aruneesh

Of course , a extra certification that 2 XML would really make it look impressive , as it is a seprate technology altogether !!! I am not sure about JUNIPER certifications ..BUT OCA and SCJD dosent require much off or almost no XML knowledge !!!

AND IT MAINLY DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF JOB YOU WOULD APPLY FOR !!! If you are going to be in a project that ir primarily an XML Application (that uses XML extensivly) a certification would certainly come in handy !!!

The cost of the exam is $150 dolars in USA !!! There are no free vouchers or discounted vouchers for the exam available right now

Hope this helps
good luck with your exam !!
