Hi Richard, I just wanted to say hello and welcome you to JavaRanch. We are all very very excited that you could join us, and help us out on the new Web Services forum. You have been a major help to many of us in learning EJBs and such. I just wanted to say thank you. Mark
Mr. Monson-Haefel, It is very special to know that you will be moderating Java Web Services Certification forum! I would like to express my gratitude for your books Enterprise JavaBeans and J2EE Web Services from which I learnt important new things and prepared well for SCEA, SCBCD and soon for SCDJWS. Your Enterprise JavaBeans book is also very popular in Russian language and I hope your new book, J2EE Web Services, will be also translated into Russian and published soon. Thank you very much, once again! Sincerely, Seid [ April 08, 2004: Message edited by: Seid Myadiyev ]
Hi All, Richard and I are actually sitting in committee @ SUN right now, writing the exam. Richard's actually working while I'm surfing the net, which is why he's not able to respond. We'll start answer questions next week, I think. All best, M
Very funny, Max! Max, who is an expert in martial arts (he has studied a number of styles and runs a dojo) is probably referring to my pathetic attempt to provide him with a picture perfect back/side kick. Turns out I'm a little rusty and Max's camera has a really freaking slow shutter speed (its digital). With any luck Max will burn that picture and save me the embracement. The check is the mail, Max. Richard
BTW, Max. I bought your book on Java Regular Expression today. A lot of people ask me about this subject and I've been looking for a good book to recommend. When I saw your ugly mug on the cover I couldn't resist buying it. The book looks very good.
I would have happily have sent a copy your way if you had mentioned it. Now, how would you like me to sign it...... ps - please drop me a snail mail address through a private email, and I'll get a copy to you. All best, M
HI, That's awesome, THE Richard Monson Haefel being the moderator on this forum, WOW. I have to say that as a long time student of EJB tecnologies and having read around 10 books on the subject you'rs are really the best ones. I have first second and third editions from your oreilly's EJB books and looking for the next edition(covering J2EE 1.4) to buy as soon as it's released. welcome, it's really great to have you around. I'll problably be away from this forum for a while as I'm preparing to take SCEA next, but be sure this is the next focus on my studies after that.

WOW! Richard Monson-Haefel, Sir, I've been reading your WS book these days on my daily commute, great job! I finished your EJB and JMS books in this way too. BTW, can I get a signed copy some time? [ April 30, 2004: Message edited by: Terry Wang ]
