Hi,
I am Planning to book the exam for 22nd May.
Informatics in the Funan IT Mall has been good for me.
And yes 4.5 hrs is long indeed.
By the way, how are preparations going on.
The syllabus is huge :-(

To be honest, when I booked the test over the phone, I could only remember 2 venues, 1 being at Shaw Center, the other at John Hancock Tower, since the beta wasn't available at Shaw, decided to opt for Drake as it was the first Prometics center that I went to & passed my SCJP
Didn't know Funan & Burlington had test centers though... A good idea to buy some toys after the exams
Hmm, where's Comat by the way?

Comat Training center is at Tanjong Pagar, in BestWay Building which is behind MAS building. I went there once before, the Monitor is quite old and is not flat screen which made me quite giddy after taken my test.

Wow, so poor condition of the systems huh, they can't be bothered to do some cleaning up
I'm also getting the J2EE Web Services book soon, hopefully this afternoon. Where're you guys buying it? The shop at Funan is selling at $64, quite expensive.

Bought Richard's book today. Actually a friend helped me to buy it. Just for information, Clementi bookshop is selling it at SGD 60.50, NTU Campus bookshop is selling it at the same price.
Last check, Clementi only has 1 book left. I got it from NTU.
Gotta start working hard now.
Good luck everyone!

Funan is slightly more expensive, but they usually have the stock, and have better services (attitude).

Do we need to book the exam time taking into the consideration the closing hourse of the test center? I know this sounds stupid, but I may need to attend a course on my scheduled date, so was thinking of changing the timing to say 5 pm instead, but since the test is 4.5 hrs long, will the test center open till 9+?

OK, I have just taken the test this afternoon at NTUC Tanjong Pagar. If you pay attention to the slip, it is stated that the test is on level 34. I was curious enough to go to level 6 to find out that it was being renovated.

This test is the longest test that I have taken so far. The new place at level 34 is nice, not as "cold" as level 6. I managed to "stay cool" for 3 and a half hours. At last, after deciding that it was enough for me, I left the place 10 minutes before the deadline (4 hours and 20 minutes)

Some notes
----------
1. There are 16 questions of pattern matching type out of total 174, nicely distributed in various topics (Application Integration)
2. Total questions are exactly 174, no more, no less, 4 1/2 hours for the questions only. The survey before the test has separate timing, 15 minutes, before the test.
3. Please read the whole book of "RMH" and especially the Java implementation. The focus is on JAX-RPC, JAXR, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, etc, not so much on pure XML and JAXP.
4. For security questions, please study WS-Security and its underlying technologies. They come up quite early. I regret that I did not study it.
5. Some design, best practises, etc on few last questions.
6. Since I do not have real-life experience of J2EE, I was quite overwhelmed by some of the questions. Time to brush more!
7. Conclusion, quite tough, but if you have solid experience, no problem.
8. No report was generated, at the end, it said that the result would be sent after 6-8 weeks.

Any questions, please send to richsun123@yahoo.com

I thought I could meet somebody up today.

I did not change the appointment date, took the exam today at Drake, Raffles Quay. spent 3 hours to finish first round, 1 hours review, and
leave half hour not used.

I'm not sure if the 174 Beta questions will become most part of question lib for the formal exam. it really cover everything mentioned in exam objectives.

you could not review the drag & drop questions, the previous answer will be lost if you choose to review.

some question has typo error.

yeah, I remember one guy would take the exam at the same date/time with me.
never mind, probably we still can meet up later if Sun has another Beta program in future. anyway, Singapore is so small.

good luck to your exam!

ooh, sorry, everybody has the same luck, as 174 questions are fixed.
