hi, i was planning to do the SCDJWS this year (before sept when it expires) but it looks like now i may not be able to do it. does anyone know if i can get the cost of the voucher reimbursed from Sun or if i can even "sell" my voucher to someone who wishes to do the exam?.

Any advise would be great. Thanks, Ronan.

Sun does not refund any voucher, but you certainly can sell it to other people. The first 2 vouchers i used were bought from a friend of mine.

yes you can sell but provided that the exam code for the exam which the buyer intends to give are the same...

like SCJP , SCBCD and SCDJWS all have 310 exam code series..
so anyone buying voucher of any of these can give any corresponding exams on the same voucher.

So for selling verify the exam code.

I am worse than you. My voucher expires at the end of May!!
I hope I could sell it soon...
It is valid for any 310 exams like:
Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP)
Sun Certified Java Developer (SCJD)
Sun Certified Web Component Developer (SCWCD)
Sun Certified Business Component Developer (SCBCD)
Sun Certified Developer For Java Web Services (SCDJWS)
Sun Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA)
Sun Certified Mobile Application Developer (SCMAD)

SCDJWS this year (before sept when it expires)

This is information valid. Is SCDJWS expiring in sept 2007.
What will be the replacement for it?

I don't think the SCDJWS is expiring in September - I think that he meant that his voucher expires then. (At least, they didn't say anything about a replacement to the web services exam while I was at the certification reception on Thursday night at JavaOne.)

I have a question regarding the retake promotion. As mentioned here at suns site http://www.sun.com/training/savings/retake.xml I suppose the offer is not restricted to taking the exam between the said dates i.e. between March 21 - June 23rd and its only to do with purchase of the voucher.

Can someone clarify this for me please?

"Gaurav A",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!
