Hi There

I am an SCJP for 1.4 and now preparing for SCJP 6.0. I am thinking of moving on to write SCDJWS. Is it advisable? I have worked into web applications maintenance, more into DB and Unix side and a little servlets and now in coldfusion. I dont have much exposure to JSP and EJB. Somebody please advise.

Also I am contemplating between taking up IBM's XML Cert. / SCDJWS....

Looking forward to some replies.

Thanks,

I think that a web services certification from Sun is probably one of the most impressive thing you can have on your resume today.

Most recruiters have been told that a service oriented architecture is the end to end all ends, and they want web service skills. It's a good skill to have, but a great addition to a resume.

I depends on your ambition and what you're working on. I've discovered that my customers have a lot of problems with integrating different information systems and I see a lot of vendor own solutions of this.

Nowadays the trend is to solve this integration with webservices which I feel is a good one. So I offer this kind of solutions to my customers. For a better practical understanding of the field I just do the certification.
