To what level of understanding does the test cover EJBs. Does it cover the implementation of the container or things of that nature?

Its reasonably detailed as I mentioned in other posts. I'm not sure what you mean by "implementation of the container." You do need to know how the container manages EJB's lifecycles and why it does it.

If you are going in for the "java certified programmer" level exam, I don't think you need to know anything about EJB. There's nothing like this mentioned in the syllabus.
