Hi Guys,
I have to start working on part II. I tried searching the web for resources that would help me in preparing for my part II, but there does not seem to be any other then info posted on this group at JavaRanch. What I am looking for is the kind of assignment given. Whether it is just problem statement from which the system has to be designed or does one need to code and provide the deployment jar etc.
Also, I would appreciate it if someone can tell me whether the time taken for the project affects the score. As I will not be able to put in too much time on a daily basis, I am thinking whether it makes sense to download the assignment and start working on it or first spend more time in looking at improving my skills in Use Case, Class Diagrams, etc. and then downloading the assignment. This way I can submit the assignment within a shorter period.
Any pointers/Suggestions/URLs for Part II would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

No, you don't get marked on the time you take to do the assignment. I think it's even better if you take some time and explore various possibilities.
I think you should download your assignment.
You can discuss your queries in this forum.

Hi ~Faizal,
Thank you for your reply. One more thing, I am thinking of buying some books(on UML and J2EE design patterns) to help me with the Exam and for reference material. The books I have in mind are (though I am not sure whether they are good or otherwise)
1) Designing Enterprise Applications with the Java(TM) 2 Platform (Enterprise Edition)
2) Building Java Enterprise Systems with J2EE
3) Applying Enterprise JavaBeans(TM): Component-Based Development for the J2EE(TM) Platform
Do you or anyone on the list has any suggestion regarding books/materials etc. which are useful not only from assignment point of view but also from an architectural view point.
Thanks once again.
Anis

I am also working on part two so far I have not taken the assignment from Sun as my project delivery is in mid December. But I found http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scea_j2ee to be excellent resource. This group will answer almost any question you may heve.
About books I will suggest you must read the Complete PetStore example and 10 the chapter of Sun's J2EE BluePrints.
You cna post any questions here/ or in yahoo group and you will get help.
Hope it helps,
