I am highly indebted to the JavaRanch SCEA Forum and Yahoo SCEA_J2EE Group for suggested reading materials, notes, discussions, and experience sharing. I could not have made it without the help from all of you.
I used up all the time (75 minutes) to go through those 48 questions. I had no time left for reviewing any of my answers to the questions. My speed and my not so impressive score (81%) are due to my inexperience. I had studied hard for the exam though.
I do not have much to contribute. It is important NOT to prepare for the exam from Java programmers' angle. Having a right concept about each listed test objectives is more important.
The new mock exam at www.moelholm.com written by Nicky is helpful in straightening out the focus and getting an idea about the style of the real test. Thanks a lot, Nicky. (I have different views about two of the questions in that mock. I am going to post my views in another thread.)

Thanks, Ian. I am looking forward to seeing your new mock that is currently being re-written.
I plan to study for IBM 141 (XML) before going for the second part of SCEA.

Hello JiaPei ,
How much close is www.moelholm.com mock to real exam? How much you scored in this mock in first attempt

Hi, Nitin, I scored about 60ish% when I first took Moelholm's mock. Thereafter, I immediately adjusted my focus to J2EE structure, concepts, etc. and studied some more. I would say that Moelholm's mock resembles what SCEA wants to test us about. However, SCEA has even more scenario questions and those scenario questions seem to be somewhat more complicated to work out under the time constraint.

congratulation!
you are really fast learner, considering you mention that no much J2EE experience.
I still remember your first question is about UML.

Congratulations JiaPei,
Any suggestions for topics on legacy connectivity and common architecture? I am taking part 1 in the month of Sept.

For legacy connectivity: Jaworski's Study Guide is good.
For common architecture:
