Is there any restrictions on which UML tool we can use for part -II assignment.
Also i wanted some recommendation for which tool to use.

One more thing i wanted to know is, if there is any time limit for giving part II once i have cleared part I.
I cleared part I in June 2002. Also i haven't taken the coupons for part II & III.
Thks for ur replies

Thks

Two of the most popular tools are Rational Rose and TogetherJ. Both offers downloadable evaluation copy. Rose expires in three weeks. The only guideline to follow is UML compliance. In fact you can even use a plain vanilla drawing tool as long as you draw according to UML specs.
There are no time limits for completing the Part II assignment. Same is true regarding how long you wait before registering for part II.

I tried out both Rational Rose and Borland(togetherJ) trial vervion. They are too huge for my machine. The installation and uninstallation is like a forever. I guessed I must have used the wrong version or something. I wasted more than 3 full-time weeks to get these two running. I later changes to Poseidon for class diagram and MagicDraw for the rest of diagrams. They both are free, small-sized and easy to install. And I passed with 91%.

Yes you are right. RationalRose is a resource hog and for beginners, I suggest that they download only the modeler edition instead of enterprise edition.
Congratulations for passing the test
