Part III preparation

Hi,

I have read here that part III is much easier.
I guess we need to read general principles and explan how did we apply it to assignment.
Do we need to remember assignment details or just design decisions?
I am little bit concerned. As it is an essay exam, we need to make sure cover all points.
How much preparation is needed?

AFAIK, there's no need to prepare explicitely for part III. You just have to remember your decisions (and by the way, the details of the assignment that lead to your decisions). The general principles you've mentioned shouldn't be unknown to those who jump on the part II bandwagon - before they jump

It wouldnt also hurt to mention Interfaces/Classes which carry out that decision. for example, you can say, because of so and so requirement of the system, my <<NamedService>> uses this mechanism to fulfil the needs rather than that mechanism as it had the following advantages..and you can list the advantages, if any. That way, you would also list the requirements of the system and your approach in fulfilling them.

Whats strange is that they do not have mark allocations for Part III essay exam. Even if they had,say 10 marks, allocated to it, that would have helped in understanding their requirements for part III. As is, we are going to list our assumptions, decisions in the part II accompaning document..part III just seems to be a recollection of part II document.

So they probably just skip anything except the diagrams and the part III answers. This saves them to read all these novelistic long-winded assumptions they get.

Yes, I think though there are no explicit marks for part III, they use those explabations for grading and ofcourse there is money factor!
They should keep it free as it does not carry any marks!

I finally went through part III. It was as I expected. No surprises.
Just remeber your design decisions.
Now that torturous wait has begun for me!

I read somewhere that time limit for part III is 90 mn, is it right ?

Any clue about the length (in pages) of the essay? 90mn suggests a sowewhat elaborate response...

Yes it is 90 minutes. Elaborative is relative. You can type in as much as you want ( depends on your typing speed as well!).
I think basic thing is how you make your point across. Anyway IT people like it short and sweet!
I can not comment much though as I have not yet passed!
