Please say your opinion about the respect given to SCEA in the Java job market in UK. I have seen many job vacancies but most of them ask for a degree but not for SCEA (or any certification qualification). I thing even a top J2EE qualification like SCEA falls behind a good degree as far as job hunting is concerned, Am I correct? Please discuss about this. Thank you very much
Depends on which point of career you are at. If you are a fresher, degrees ( if not comparable ie. a computer science vs. any other engineering) count more than certificates. If you have appropriate expertise in the field then degrees would not matter much.
Few people do ask for certifications though not necessary but most of them all if u have done any certificationas that means u are well versed in the concepts hence atleast you wont falter in the concepts and the syntax also.
Plus does a great to your confidence when giving the interviews.happens to me all the time
