Today I have passed
SCEA Part I exam with 85% (41/48) score. The exam was tough with lots of scenario based questions especially on legacy systems connectivity and security.
Java Ranch is highly instrumental in my preparation and I am thankful to everyone here. I have used the following material for my preparation:
Cade book
Head First Design
Patterns Head First
EJB Ramu's Notes and Balaji's notes from SCEA_J2EE yahoo group.
Material on
http://scea.sweber.be/ Randy Miller UML Tutorial I would suggest the following three mock exams:
[Val removed link due to copyright violation]
Exforsys Simulator http://www.moelholm.com/ I will highly recommend reading [*** Val removed text due to copyright violation] a
word doc is available on SCEA yahoo group also. I feel that this exam is scenario based, mere reading through the material may not be sufficient, you need to grasp the essence of architectures and their applicability, J2EE features and their impact on quality of service attributes (QoS). While reading through the questions, one must read through the lengthy explanations under each question and understand the rationale behind the answer as to why a particular option is chosen against others. Use search feature on this forum to get clarifications on any questions. I found lots of past postings on some ambiguous questions.
My prepartion took about 5 weeks and it was a wonderful learning experience.
Hope my tips would be useful for the future aspirants. I wish all the best.
