want to clarify some of my understandings on BDM

Since I no experience on the airline industry, I feel odds and lost in understanding the terms in the requirement. I have tried to browse through the forum for one night and can start to learn some of the concepts, but still wan t to ask more questions and clarification for my understanding.

Mileage Account
mileage is some points that can been earned by customers if they use the service of FBN? those points (i.e. mileage) can be in turn to be used to buy tickets in FBN (i.e. award travel?)

Mileage account is just the records of the customer how much points (mileage) he/she can use for award travel?


Equipment
I do not understand what this term means; any simple example can help give me a light?


For use case:
View Frequent Flyer Miles
does this relate to "mileage"? any example of scenario of this use case?

Hi,

Mileage or Frequent Flyer Miles is a bonus earned by a airline traveller who flyes frequently by the same airline company. The rules for earning (accrual) and use (redemption) can be very complicated.

The FFMS (Frequent Flyer Mileage System) is an apllication that FBN uses to control the FFM possessed by each customer.

Note that the rules for paying an itinerary with FFMs are not stated in the requirements.

Equipment is an airplane, for example: Boeing 737, Airbus a330 etc.

what does a "leg" mean?
I guess that "leg" is similar to segment, but should have some relationship with "lay over", however, I don't quite understand what "lay over" means. Can anyone kindly explain what "leg" and "lay over" mean?

A leg is a part of the flight. Suppose that you have to go from Rio to San Francisco. You may have one flight from Rio to Chicago and other from Chicago to San Francisco. Each flight is a leg or a segment in yout itinerary.

Lay over is a plane change. You may have to change to another plane, so you have to choose the seats for each flight of the itinerary.

May I know when "lay over" is necessary? Only the post condition of prepare and change itinerary use case have "lay out" appeared. Is it a system event, without customers involvment?

Whenever I've needed a lay over, I have a flight number for each of the legs...

Hi,

what does this mean? Each leg of the flight/segment could have more than one
flight number - when with a lay over the plane changed ?
