You definitely need the 2.0 spec and *not* the 2.1 spec. This exam is not using 2.1, because Sun's goal is to NOT certify that you are up on the new spec that nobody is using, but instead to certify that you are *ready* and experienced for work in the real world. The J2EE team (and the marketing folks) know that it will be quite some time before vendor support and -- most importantly -- customer adoption of J2EE 1.4 (EJB 2.1) will be widespread enough to justify
testing on that spec.
On the other hand, customers tend to upgrade their servlet/JSP web apps more quickly than their full J2EE /EJB apps, so the SCWCD *will* be testing on the newer specs, when that exam is revised. When the time comes that enough customers have transitioned to EJB 2.1, then the SCBCD will be revised. But that won't be for at least a year!
OK, back to work -- wrapping up the last bits of the book.
cheers,
Kathy
