Question for Val and Seema Manivannan

Hi,
I actually just started studying for the SCBCD within the last few weeks and was curious how your exam simulator is set up.
First off, how did you end up with the questions that are included in the simulator? Did you write them and then have beta testers go through the simulator kinda like sun does in their beta certification exams?
Also, what group of people did you test your simulator against? Professionals? Students?
Like i said im just curious and would love to know more about your simulator, i'll go check out the page.

Thanks for your interest. Our exam simulators are authored by experts in the respective fields, check out our authors page. We also have a team of reviewers, who perform technical and editorial review of the content. Beta testers for the products include both exam aspirants as well as successful exam takers. The mock exam questions are very close in difficulty level to the actual exam questions, but we have taken care to avoid having any real exam questions.

from other posts i understood that the questions can be a bit more difficult, so you are better prepared. is this true ?

Hi,
From what i've heard its true. The questions are meant to be a little harder then the ones on the exam so you will excel when you get to the testing center. I think this is how most simulators are setup and it seems that this is true with the whizlabs one as well.

Yes, the difficulty level of our questions is harder than the actual exam. It not only esnures that you come out with Pass but with a really high score.

We don't have a tutorial in our product, but we have plans to add tutorials for different certifications, at our website in the near future.

Do u mean practice tests before we are ready to take the real exam in the simulator? In most of the other simluators, there are many practice tests to practice in spcific areas... But when I used other WhizLabs software in the past(When I was preparing for CCNA), I found the practice/customize tests in WhizLabs' CCNA test....
But I'm not sure about the WhizLabs SCBCD... I think it still contains that feature...

As far as I ever used WhizLabs software in the past when I prepared for CCNA exam, I have some feelings on the difficulty level of the level...
Before I acutally took the exam, I took the tests in Whizlabs 640-607 simulator and I got low marks than I hoped... And, in turn, I felt I was not confident to go for the real exam... Then I try to take the tests again and again till I get high scores... Finally I made CCNA with 911/1000 in the real exam...
What I mean is that since the difficulty level in the WhizLabs is a bit higher than in the real exam, it can, in turns, make the candidates to be less confident to go for the exam... Could you please comment on this situation? Thanks...

As far as the in simulator tutorial is concerned, how in depth will these tutorials be in the future? Are we talking brief overviews or in depth details, similar to a scbcd certification book?
This does sound like a nice feature, but i still think i would rather buy a book, read it, then take practice tests in the simulator.

If they make the questions harder, doesnt that mean you have to learn more to answer the question? imho the more you learn, the better you will do. So many questions on tests only test you on one concept, but sun's cert tests seem to test you on at least 10 topics per question.
WhizLabs approach to this seems appropriate b/c of this, they want you to learn as much as you can while you are testing your knowledge in their simulator. I think the advantages are greater than the disadvantages, ie. feeling less confident when you take the test. After all i don't think i'd mind if i walked in to take the test and felt the questions were easy. I'd actually feel relieved

Thanks for your query!
As Dave pointed out, the "Advantages" of making the test harder than the actual exam are on higher side than the "Disadvantages". Frankly, from our past experience of over 3 years we've seen that this approach works really great and our success rate speaks for it.
MANY MANY people have responded VERY positively to us saying that "they coudln't believe the success they achieved" on using our product for the actual exam.
Besides this, the way we've designed our mock exams: Diagnostice, Practice and Final ensures high level of confidence before the actual exam.

Thanks a lot, Pradeep, for your explanation... I think this kind of feeling in a candidate's mind comes from the readiness level of the candidate... So whether or not he is ready for the exam can be actually determined by the WhizLabs simulator...
