Hi Folks,

I just found out that 1.3 exam CX-310-090 is not offered anymore . I still have the Head First EJB 1.3 book. What would you recommend someone like me? As to which chapters of the the Head First book to read, and what other newer sources to read.

Thank YOU,
Sefa

Hi Sefa,

You are another unlucky person as you just wasted your money on HF EJB.
EJB 1.3 and 2x is now outdated technology. Its EJB 3 all the way now. It has all new stuff which is completely different from its older versions(such as annotations and JPA)

If you have started reading the book, dont go more than chapter 4. Thats uptil session beans. After that, the books a waste.

You should buy EJB3 In Action by Debu Panda, Reza Rahman and Derek Lane(the publishers are Manning) and read the book. Its not that user-friendly as head first, but its much better than the other boring text-book style ones available. Its a book which will give you a complete idea of what EJB 3 feels. After that, you should read Mikalai Zaikin's notes on the SCBCD 5 exam. Thats the exam you can take now.

Good Luck with the shock !!
