This question has nothing to do with SCWCD. But thought I'll ask anyway.
Is there any exam to become a Java Certified Trainer?
If there is can you please give me the link to the site.
Thanks,
Roopa.

I was asking about a certification for teaching java.. Is there anything like that.. For example there is a certified trainer for Business Objects exam, which you have to pass to teach Business Objects..

Hello Roopa,
Yes,there is an exam to be cleared for teaching Java especially if you are a trainer from a SUN Authorised Education Center.
The idea is that for a trainer to train on a particular topic he needs to do two things.
1)Clear the SUN CERTIFICATION on the topic he is expected to teach. There is even a mininmum percentage for this. For example if you want to teach the SL-275 which is a course from SUN that takes you towards SCJP you need to get 80%(old pattern) and 71%(new Pattern) in the
exam to appear take up the IAT(which is step 2)
2)IAT stands for INSTRUCTOR AUTHORIZATION TEST.Here you will be tested for the three basic qualities of a trainer.
a)Technical Skills
b)Presentation Skills
c)Keeping up with time.
This test is taken up at SUN and in the prsence of a trainer from SUN.
Hope this helps,
Manjunath

Let me get this right... You mean I have to be working for one of Sun's authorised training centres to be eligible to take IAT exam?
I am a consultant... can I take the exam & then start teaching...
Can you please include the link to this exam site in your reply
Thanks,
Roopa
