I've just passed sjcp and I decided to go for another certification. I was wondering... Is it a good choice to attempt for "Sun Certified Web Component Developer". Humm... I don't know anything about j2EE but I really would like to learn, is there any good tutorial on net??? Thank you really much!

Do a search for SCWCD vs SCJD in this forum or in the developer's forum -- I'm sure you'll get a bunch of hits.
SCWCD is very similar to SCPJ in the fact that it's a multiple choice / fill in the blank test -- There are a bunch of great books out there that will help you to prepare for the exam (I used the Manning book -- check out my review in the Bunkhouse).
SCJD is very different -- you're given an assignment (a specification for a program) you submit the program and then some essays to follow up.
Both the SCWCD and SCJD forums here at the JavaRanch are *quite* helpful so no matter which you choose to go for -- you'll be in good hands.

Thank you!! Just one more doubt: there are 2 tutorials about J2EE, one about 1.3 platform, the other about 1.4 beta. Which do you advise???

J2EE 1.3 includes JSP 1.2 and Servlet 2.3 -- that's what the SCWCD exam is based on, so that's what you should read up on.

If you want to do both eventually, then SCWCD first.

I wish to win the lottery. I wish for a lovely piece of pie. And I wish for a tiny ad:
