Hi All,

I have been learning Servlets and JSPs from Kathy Sierra and I find it to be good enough for a beginner. But I still feel that I need something else that can provide me a little more example practical applications for practice. Something that can give you a real life scenario and ask you to build it. Then it will recommend you the best possible solution for it...
Don't mind, but this is the way I like it...

I know that this new book is specifically a certification guide, but does it have something similar to what I am looking for???

Cheers,
Sunil

I am afraid the answer is NO. Not in this kind of book. I have been looking a book like that but no luck. Few years back, many good IT/programming books but most are obsolete. btw, pm me if you/anyone find a good one.

I toyed with the idea of having a complete application along with the book, but I was advised that since this is not a beginner's book, I shouldn't clutter the text and firm exam objectives with too much code. So now there are only snippets to show relevant points and a few complete deployable units such as tag files (you'll find these in the Download Bundle, a deployable WAR with source code, for the book). I always encourage you to think up your own ideas and give them a go however, you'll learn a lot more that way (right through from conceptualisation to design to implementation/development).
