Is the prepartion for SCWCD1.4(CX-310-081) enough for SCWCD5(CX-310-083)?

Hi everybody,

Anybody in the forum..please clarify my doubt.

Recently I have taken a vocher for SUN Certification.
With that I am eligible to write any SUN Certification that starts from
(CX-310). Vocher valid upto 6/30/2008.

I am interested in SCWCD1.4(cx-310-081) and fully prepared for that.
Now I shocked to hear that SUN has discontinued SCWCD1.4.
Now I don't wish to write that worthless(discontinued by SUN) exam..
I have changed my mind and I want to be a SCWCD5(CX-310-083).
I found the objectives of both are damn same.. then why don't I go for
SCWCD5?

My doubts are

1) Is HFSJ meant for J2EE1.4 (latest version of HFSJ in market) enough
for SCWCD5?
2)What else I have to prepare for SCwCD5?
3)Whizlabs SCWCD1.4 is enough for SCWCd5?(Because I bought whizlabs for 1.4)
4)Where can I get the mock exams for SCWCD5(CX-310-083)?
(All sites are mocks for SCWCD1.4, I think)


I will be thankful to you all if anybody clarify my doubts.

These exams were discontinued February 29, 2008. If you hold an exam voucher for any of the mentioned certification exams, you have through April 30, 2008 to take the exam at an authorized Prometric worldwide testing center.

Hi All
I have prepared for SCWCD 1.4 and now they have discontinued it.

Does anyone have voucher for SCWCD 1.4 ? I contacted Sun Microsystems and they told they are not providing it now as it has been discontinued.

Also, if I need to write SCWCD 1.5, will HeadFirst Servlets and JSPs alone suffice the exam requirements?

Yes, If you have a valid 1.4 voucher, You can take the exam and the deadline for it is April 30.
