Ive finished HFSJ 2 three times, and yesterday i made HFSJ 2 mock exam (my first exam).

The shock was i got 39 out of 69 (which means failure) and i registered my exam next monday, do you think i should delay the exam? realy need your advice because im totaly confused and dont know what to do.

I think it's a common mistake to do mocks just before the exam date. You have done long before.
Did you try any other mocks ? HFSJ is known to be on the tough side, so you maybe you should also try some others.

You just need to do more past papers. I personaly have read Head first and I'm dissapointed in the amount of errors it has in the book. I was reading it with the errata printed out by my side!

I am in exacly the same situation. consider purchasing a bunch of mock papers. Links are on Javaranch.

I'm giving myself a mock exam every day in 3 hours and then I go over my questions understanding why they are wrong.

Don't panic. You can always do it again. Posponing it just gives you an excuse to have a day off today ;-)

Hi Hussam,

It's only you who can take descision, to appear or to not to appear in the exam. I saw in your signature that you got a great percentage in SCJP. Why don't you remember those days ? . How you descided that time to appear in the exam ? I would suggest that you do your preperation well and then only you appear in the exam. Reading a book thrice does not mean that you have prepared well

Best Regards

first of all, i want to thank all of you for your encouragement, and Eurig you are right, the book contains many errors, which also made me confused, but ill do all my best to have the exam on Monday as scheduled. I still have four days, ill do all my best to clear my doubt and have an excellent mark.

wish me luck my friends

HFSJ 2 actually shouldn't have many errata. There were quite a few in the first edition that we cleaned out in the second. The errata in the 2nd edition that I know about are in the new final mock itself and are blatantly obvious, so they shouldn't cause you to mislearn anything. If you have questions about any of them, ask about it in a thread.

39 on the HFSJ 2 final is pretty good. That exam is the hardest you'll find. 56% on it is probably like getting in the 80-90% range on the real exam.
