The SCJA exam currently covers Java 5 (or 1.5 if you like), but Sun already released Java 6 (or let's name it 1.6).

When will it be possible to do the SCJA exam for Java 6?

Will the SCJA Java 5 exam still be valid? Is there an expiration date when you have to renew it, e.g. that it is invalid after a few years or with a new Java version?

As SCJA is quite new, I guess SUN may first update SCEA part I or SCWCD 1.4. For basic Java knowledge, there is less different between Tiger and Mustang.

Sure, why not.

After SCJP Tiger is released, SCJP 1.2 is still valid.

I just went to download JDK 1.5 for an installation of JetSpeed2, and was surprised that it wasn't immediately there at Suns site.

I don't think you'll see an SCJA exam on Java 6 for quite a while. SCJA is realy more concerned with high level Java concepts, as opposed to the intricate details about how the various different versions work. Master the high level stuff, and the basics of Java syntax, such as looping, initiaization, and conditional statements, and you really shouldn't have to worry about the differing versions.
