Hi Guys,

I have just purchased the learning CD from sun microsystems, which i have almost finished, and was wondering if this is all that is needed to pass the exam well. i have read most of the posts on this website and it seems as if you all have done this course self study, using your own material.

can anyone give me any advice regarding this and if this is not all i need can you give me some great books or sites that will enable me do well.

Cheers
Bryan

Also check out the sample test questions at http://www.scja.com

My two SCJA Certification books have helped innumerable people pass the SCJA exam, so if you want a good SCJA study guide, and a solid confidence booster, you should think about picking them up.

Cheers!

The CD that i bought is CDJ-110A this is the CD that the lady said i should buy. she said that i shouldnt need anything else to pass the course. after checking this website i freeked out because the material covered on the cd is pretty trivial and the things that you all mention is in the exam, doesnt seem to be there. I am hoping that the rest of the cd will cover, in detail, what i need to know.

i am definatelly going to check out all the test papers and Cameron ill definatelly check out your rescources.

thanks for the help guys, you will probably hear from me quite soon.

cheers
Bryan

P.S. gona be quite pissed if the CD i purchased doesnt cover the material needed, as i forked out R3500.00 here in South Africa for it!

As you're studying, remember this forum is also a great place to come for help on specific questions.

Hello all,

Do anyone have the table which shows the differences between SE, EE & ME so I can better understand the JAVA platforms and what are the basic services available in each?

Thanks
Madhu Surya.

Dude, that's way too expensive. Not to burst your bubble. I just looked up the price for us in the US and it's 635 bucks for that CD, which is outrageous!!! What you're paying for is a Java dude from Sun to yap for a few hours that makes 100k a year. I'd try to sell that to some poor bloke for half the price if you can milk 'em.

I recommend the head first book by kathy and bert for intro to java, and the Camerom dude's examscam book when you are comfortable with java somewhat and prepare to write the exam. Especially the latter book since you've already finished the CD. I've not yet taken the exam, but having some CS behind me I have found the examscam to be relatively straight forward/. Good luck...
