A question on the Developer Certification.

For the Developer Certification, I believe there are two parts, and in one part u have to submit a project based on a specific requirement.
Everyone aiming for this certification seems to be building the required project based on swing technology. I am wondering is this a MUST that the project should be built on swing technology, or is their a choice where the user can build the project based on web technologies making use of swing and jsp.
