Do we need to know how to convert decimals and hexadecimals to bit notations to perform bitwise comparisons (& ^ |) in the exam ? Or will the bit notations be given in the question itself ? Hope to get this clarified.

I think it is implicitly stated that a knowledge of conversions is a must. so it is imperative that u learn them.
