Is there any plan of opening a new forum for this topic?

Personally I think it would be a good idea.
Having
1) been to a very good JUG presentation,
2) had Ivar Jacobsen tell me it's going to be where it's at in the future (even though the concept is not new), and
3) having played around a bit with AspectJ,
I would gladly volunteer to start off moderating such a new forum.
Anybody else interested in Aspect Oriented Programming???

Haven't seen much discussion about it. Certainly not enough to warrant a new forum.
The only times that I have seen it discussed much have been in Design conversations in the Patterns forum.

I think AOP is very cool but I do not think there is enough demand on JavaRanch to warrant its own forum.
BTW, if you are interested in AOP then you should check out the musings of Rickard Oberg and the future of JBoss 4 as an AOP Framework.

I personally think there should be something on AOP here. I tried searching for AOP in Javaranch and was a bit dissappointed on not find a single match, then searched on Google....

Which is exactly the reason that we don't need a dedicated forum. If AOP was a subject of constant inquery than sure... however this is not the case.

Are we completely sure that the mystery voice is wrong when it promises, "If you build it, they will come"?
