Hi Guys,
I think I need to thank all the people here sharing info which helped me in clearing Java Certification exam with 79%. Though the score is not to my expectations, but atleast it'll keep me hungry for more.
Now something for you.
The exam was easy (compared to what u find in Khalid Mughal for example) and time was not major constraint for me.
What mattered was that I never studied RHE, which I feel is closer to the exam, though Khalid is not bad for that matter. Apart from cram rest all books are wastage of time. And if u want any guidance just go to the site of Maha Anna. The lady is great, for her knowledege and for her patience.
For your info there is a site ExamCram.com which sends u question a day and the answer on the following day. Also do rememer that when u try help others here u also increase your own knowledge and what u talk about here, u'll never forget. So do try solve others problems. As for
question pattern,
GC had two questions.
Thread 7.
IO 5.
Collections -3 annd they were most basic.
awt maybe-5 and no code. nothing on painting chapter as in khalid
As usual overridding, overloadinge e.t.c. takes the lions share.
Now time to move over to Developer certification. So adieu to programmer certification site.
With thanks,
Vikram

congrats vikram, so you recommend the rhe book as being the best?
if you have any sample concepts or questions to share from the exam that would be nice.

Vikram , congratulations. it is a very good score. It will be very good , if you can have your own website & post your experiences , preaparation tips etc. on it for the benefits of the others. your participation further will help other javaranchers preparing for the scjp exam.
I don't want to spoil the party. Vikaram , As you know javaranch has got naming policy. That is , user has to register with proper first name & last name , like mine " shailesh sonavadekar ". So please register with valid surname & go on bash ( Unless you are south indian where some of them don't have surnames , if I have not mistaken . then i will be sorry.)

hi vikram,
Congrats.. Well done...
I am also using the Moughal book, and I agree with yu that its better to use the RHE.. But its too late now..
Anyway vikram, how about collections from moughal, its very basic. He has not explained Array, linked list etc..... Is moughal enough for collections.
Thanks in advance
shalini
