I have a requirement of converting a client server app to a j2ee app. The client would be created using eclipse RCP and spring for mid tier service layer and hibernate for persistence layer. does anyone have any experience of using these technologies in their projects? any help would be appreciated eg. reference books, forums etc
The Spring and Hibernate project sites both have very good documentation. That's the best place to start.
I'm curious, if you don't mind sharing, why the decision was made to switch to move away from a browser based solution.

I wasn't the decision maker, but guess the main reason to move to RCP was because this is a conversion project from VB client to java and using RCP it would be possible to translate thick clients written in VB. Spring and Hibernate replace the mid tier currently written in C++. Does this make sense to you Marc?
