Well, it looks like the final approval ballot went over well:

JSR286 Final Approval Ballot From Mach

Pluto will likely be the first to come out with an implementation.

The Java Portlet API version 2.0 specification is now under development by the JSR-286 Expert Group under the auspices of the Java Community Process. Details on the specification work can be found at the JSR-286 web site. Drafts of the new portlet specification and API can be found at http://hnsp.inf-bb.uni-jena.de/spec/. The Expert Group is very interested in feedback from the community. Send your comments to jsr-286-comments@jcp.org

http://portals.apache.org/pluto/

JSR-286 is very much aligned with Servlets and JSPs. I'm waiting for a reference implementation to come out so I can update my JSR168 book, and help people learn about 286.

My JSR-168 book is available on Amazon, or through my website, www.portorials.com.

Just follow my signature links, and you'll find some great, free CBT tutorials on how to do JSR-168 development. I use IRAD as the tool, but the concepts are valid for any JSR168 portal server.

Kindest regards!

Sorry.

My server did a switch, and I lost all my subdomains and DNS entries.

Here:

http://www.scja.com/jsr168/portalmockexamsportlettutorials.jsp

That'll work. And I'll fix up the signature links.
