Hello Jonas,

I have recently started developing with Liferay. Earlier my organization was using Jahia framework, but we abandoned it due to the way it handles inter-portlet communication. And ofcourse Liferay looks much cleaner that Jahia.

I have one more concern. Will Liferay usage result in performance improvement in terms of time?

Thanks,
Raghu.

Based on my experience with Liferay for about two years, I always feel that the performance of Liferay on Tomcat is pretty good, though it is not excellent. But I am not sure if it is the same case when it runs on other servers.

Hamid Aghazzaf, welcome to JavaRanch.

But please don't ask an unrelated question in the middle of a thread; we call this hijacking. You ought to have searched for a similar thread, and if you hadn't found one, started a new thread.

Hi Hamid,

Ant build is supported as well in Liferay Portlets development.

Hi Ko Ko,

Liferay is a strong Portal framework.

Alfresco is a robust ECM.

If you merge these two, you will get best performance either in Tomcat or other Application sever.

Hi raghu,

Liferay has good performance now if you used:

Liferay as framework and
Alfresco as ECM.

Thanks for the links, Jonas. So it seems like the integration stuff is discussed pretty in detail in "Integrating with Alfresco, LDAP, and SSO" chapter. It would be really interesting to have a change to read in detail how we can integrate Alfresco and Liferay. If I am not wrong, the marriage between two has not been that long. Two years ago?
