Hi all, esp. Moderators.. I can't help but noticing the above statement: "Do not post questions from the actual certification exams." Would you kindly explain to me why you had this policy? Wouldn't it be better for us who plan to take the exam to study from the real exam questions, rather than from mock exams? I'm not complaining with the way JavaRanch is today, which I consider to be a "great" (if not the best) resource on the net. But, wouldn't a discussion about real exam questions help us big time?? Thanks in advance.. - eric
In a previous post, a bartender generally stated that one of the best parts of the Sun certification is that the questions have not been released all over the Internet. Some other exams, like the MCSE, have "BrainDump" sites all over the Internet. It takes away from what you're supposed to get from the exam. If you're studying for the exam in general, you're getting knowledge. If you study the questions, all you're learning is the answers to those questions. Mark
Hi, I would only say to keep the test competitive, original questions should not be posted.Or else, the value of SCJP would go down as MCSD;do you really want this to happen?? -- Sandeep [This message has been edited by Desai Sandeep (edited July 26, 2001).]
what is the definition of exam ? why people give the exam ? By exchanging the real question , don't you think you are cheating yourself ? you will not be able to realize the true potential of yours. I feel if your foundation is strong , then only you can built castles. isn't it ? So , we at javaranch feel that The people coming here & exchanging the knowledge economy shall be the best citizens of the e -world. It is possible by having strong foudation , honesty & adaptive nature. I think I have cleared the policy of Javaranch. Your Friednly Bartender Shailesh.
Thank you all, Now I understand it clearly. I also agree that we should keep the real exam questions the way it is , just wanted to know what the others might think. Thank you again, and let's keep Java Ranch as a great site as it is today.. - eric
the best thing about javaranch is that it mainatins the true spirit of the exam at all times. i totally agree with all of u that real exam questions should not be discussed and that they should be left for the d-day.
I think that when you are a SJCP you should also consider following: ... The content of all tests and test materials are proprietary and confidential information of Sun. Candidates may not disclose or share any of the content of these materials; nor may candidates ask for, write (in any media), publish, or otherwise disclose any test questions or answers. ... taken from http://suned.sun.com/US/certification/register/policies.html
Or am I totally wrong?

Hi Antii, You are right. Infact, when you take the SCJP you are asked to submit the non-disclosure of questions. If you choose "no" in that quesion then your score is invalidated. That means that you are governed by the secrecy. It is for that reason JavaRanch does not allow questions for actual exams to be published in here. Ravindra Mohan. Hi Ravindra! Thx for sharing my opinion. So JavaRanch policy on this one is actually also a benefit for a JavaRancher We should only share the study here. Antti Barck A SJCPree (due August 1st 2001) ------------------ Antti Barck It Solutions Consultant, NSD Oy
