I have a DAO which populates 2 ArrayLists with objects that represent rows, and columnNames. I have these lists since the data I am getting is being returned from a web service where the column names can be anything. I dont know how many there will be. So I have to create a grid which shows all this dynamic data - rows, columnNames. I am using a 3rd party custom component.

Does anybody known of any examples of extending javax.faces.model.DataModel to create a datamodel that can be used by my grid object? Do components bind directly to this datamodel? I am new to JSF and still trying to figure out all this binding stuff.
